COLOGNE, Germany: At the 2019 International Dental Show (IDS), French company ACTEON released the latest addition to its 2 D and CBCT panoramic product line, the X-Mind prime. Mixing cutting-edge technology with enhanced simplicity, the new scanner generated a great deal of interest from attendees of IDS.

Using a single sensor, dentists can quickly and easily switch between 2‑D and 3‑D modes. Additionally, the X-Mind prime offers a wide range of possible examinations, 24 options for panoramic and 32 for CBCT, covering many clinical applications including implantology, endodontics, and temporomandibular joint and sinus imaging. Practitioners can also scan 3‑D objects such as plaster models and silicone impressions, opening up a whole range of new possibilities.

Speaking about the scanner, group product director Laurent Zenou said, “X-Mind prime is the new generation of 3‑D scanners for general practitioners. It is a beautiful product, well designed and compact.”

Besides improving functionality, ACTEON has put a great deal of thought into the practical need to save space. Owing to its lightweight and compact design, the scanner can fit into the smallest of spaces. Additionally, with its intelligent wall-mounting system, the unit adapts easily to all office space configurations, as it takes up no floor space.

For those practitioners who might be looking for compatibility with the ACTEON Imaging Suite, the X-Mind prime allows for this and offers advanced functionality, such as simplified implant planning and customised reports, while working with both macOS and Windows operating systems.
