MONTREAL, Canada: Dental Wings has announced that its Dental Wings Lasermill laser ablation system is now certified to work with VITABLOCS Mark II materials (VITA Zahnfabrik). The abrasion-resistant monochromatic dental ceramic blocks are especially suitable for the fabrication of in- and onlays, veneers and crowns with CAD/CAM systems. According to the manufacturer, over the past 25 years, more than 9 million restorations have been produced from these blocks, with a ten-year survival rate of 90 percent.

BASEL, Switzerland: Straumann, a leading provider of tooth replacement solutions, has increased its stake in Dental Wings from 44 to 55 per cent with an option for a stepped increase to full ownership by 2020. Although Straumann now holds the majority of shares, the founding shareholders of Dental Wings will retain a controlling interest and will remain with the company, together with the executive management. Financial terms were not disclosed.

MONTREAL, Canada/HANAU, Germany: Canadian company Dental Wings and German dental manufacturer Heraeus Kulzer have entered into a long-term collaboration for the worldwide distribution of the Dental Wings Laser Milling (DWLM) technology. The two companies announced that they will be distributing the new technology with specialized Heraeus Kulzer materials in order to improve digital production of dental restorations.
