“After ROOTS SUMMIT is before ROOTS SUMMIT” was one of the main sentiments expressed at ROOTS SUMMIT 2018. Ahead of the 2020 event, which will be taking place in Prague in the Czech Republic from 21 to 24 May, Dental Tribune Online spoke with lecturer Dr Daniel Černý about the advantages of this year’s venue and why all endodontic enthusiasts should attend next year’s event.
Dr Černý, why is Prague the perfect city for hosting ROOTS SUMMIT 2020?
That is very easy to answer. Prague is a beautiful city that is a top tourism site already, and May is the best time of the year here with everything in bloom! The chosen venue is brand-new and very modern with some neat tech features.
What are you looking forward to the most?
When looking back at previous events, I am hoping for another great line-up of clinical lecturers, who with the ROOTS SUMMIT format have a reasonable amount of time in which to share their experience. Less uptight, less barriers. More knowledge, more fun.
Can you name three reasons why everyone interested and involved in endodontics should come to ROOTS SUMMIT?
First, as scientists, we need to stay updated on new findings, but it is so much more convenient to listen to experienced clinicians and thereby avoid analysing each paper separately, which is almost impossible timewise anyway.
Second, as clinicians, we want to know how to take the right path right now rather than struggle in our offices alone while putting our patients in uncertain situations.
Third, as humans, we need to keep meeting internationally, and it is easier when this happens in a group with similar professions. And ROOTS SUMMIT brings together endodontists from all over the world.
Thank you very much for the interview.
